Teacher Bio
My name is Ashley Santoya, I will be teaching 4th Grade Reading, Writing and Social Studies for the 2023-2024 school year. I am a graduate of Northern Arizona University and Grand Canyon University, with a Masters in Instructional Technology. I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona in a community nearby. I have a passion and love for this every growing city of Laveen, which is why I choose to live and teach here. I have been teaching in Laveen for 9 years. I spent the last 8 years at Cheatham and now I recently joined the Desert Meadows Bobcat family. I look forward to getting to know the Bobcat community by seeing you around campus and at school functions.
I have been coaching the co-ed Softball team for the past several years and recently helped coach the Volleyball Team as well. I enjoy watching our Laveen Athletes give it their all. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family and friends and most of all, you can find me cheering on our Arizona sports teams!
I am excited to get to know my new group of students and their parents. I strive to create a classroom environment that students are eager to come to daily. In my classroom your student will be challenged in critical reading skills explore their own local and American history. I am a firm believer that it takes a village therefore I will rely and appreciate your input and support throughout the school year, after all no one knows your child better than YOU!
