Welcome to Band!!!

The band program at M.C. Cash and Rogers Ranch provides an opportunity for students from 5^th through 8^th grades to learn how to play a musical instrument. No prior knowledge of music is required and all students from 5^th through 8^th grade are welcome to join. All students have the opportunity to participate in two concerts during the year: one in the winter; one in the spring. In each class, we have two groups: beginning and advanced. Students in their first year in band are placed in the beginner’s group and students with playing experience will be placed in the advanced group. All students will have a chance to play at the concerts with their class.

Students who play an instrument have many advantages over students who don’t. Being involved with the arts help students develop social and communication skills. Research has shown that students who play an instrument excel academically in other subject areas such as math, writing, and social studies.
