About Our Classroom

I chose to incorporate plants into my classroom theme because research shows that greenery reduces stress and anxiety. It also increases memory, focus, and attention span. In addition to these positive features, I like having a calming and comforting environment for my students to learn in free from clutter.
In my classroom, there is an inquiry wall that students are able to add to as we research different countries around the world. I’m excited to virtually travel to places around the world with my students this year. 🙂

Class Dojo

In addition to following S.T.I.N.G., the schoolwide discipline program at Estrella Foothills, I will be utilizing Class Dojo. With this program, your child will be able to earn points throughout the day for following S.T.I.N.G.

At the end of each day, I will stamp your child’s STING passport. For each point they get in Class Dojo, they will earn that many stamps. They can use the stamps to purchase items at the Scorpion Den.

Every week, your child will be given a Dojo Weekly Report to share with you and for you to sign. You will also be able to login to the Class Dojo website to see how they earned their points for the day including any negative points they may have received. (ex. Not turning in homework)
