About Our Classroom

I chose to incorporate plants into my classroom theme because research shows that greenery reduces stress and anxiety. It also increases memory, focus, and attention span. In addition to these positive features, I like having a calming and comforting environment for my students to learn in free from clutter.
In my classroom, there is an inquiry wall that students are able to add to as we research different countries around the world. I’m excited to virtually travel to places around the world with my students this year. 🙂

Teacher Bio

Hello and welcome to our 4th grade class website! I am looking forward to a wonderful year ahead. This will be my 19th year of teaching. I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. I graduated from Purdue University and moved to Arizona from Indiana about 15 years ago. This is my 12th year working in the Laveen School District. I absolutely love working here! 🙂 Estrella Foothills Global Academy has a wonderful global program and we integrate lessons that will prepare the students for the real world experiences they will have after graduating. We truly are a family here and I am very grateful to work with everyone here.

It has always been a dream of mine to teach 4th grade since I was 10 years old. My fourth grade teacher was the reason I went into teaching because she made learning so much fun and very exciting. My goal is for your child to reach their goals and have fun along the way. I am so honored and privileged to teach your child and I know it is going to be a great year!
