Algebra 1 News

Hello 8th grade Families!

Every year our accelerated math students are placed in a hybrid 8th grade/ Algebra 1 class. At the end of the year, students will be taking the AQT( Algebra Qualifying Test) before entering high school for the next school year. The test is usually after AZMerit in May. I have compiled topics our Algebra 1 class has gone over or in the process of going over. I am also currently creating a review packet for students to use to help study that student will have access to over the school year.

Online Learning

Hello families,

As we navigate through this new “normal” I would like to first say, Thank you!  You have been a big support to our online learning. Each week you shall receive a schedule reviewing the concepts we will be going over in our online learning. With the permission of our district I will now be holding online weekly Google meets. These hours will be to assist on classwork, bellwork, checking in and out with our kids. I have also moved all classwork to an online platform called Wizer. It is an interactive worksheet online. if students are having trouble logging on try the following:

  1. copy and paste the link into another tab.
  2. try another internet browser.
  3. clear the cache through the browsers settings.

Please email me if you have any questions or concerns.

District updates

Hello Wonderful families,

During this time there are waves of emotions in the air, however as the days go by please feel free to email any of us on the team. Please visit our web page https://www.laveenschools.org/coronavirus/ for more updates on our schools and the virus. Our wonderful school counselors have found great tips to talking to kids about the situation.

Meal updates

Meals: Knowing many of our families rely on school meals for their children, we will be offering free breakfast and lunch to all children between the ages of one and 18 on a grab & go basis. Families may stop by any of our schools (except Vista) between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. for breakfast and 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. for lunch. Children must be present to take a meal. Adult meals are not available. Families do not need to register for meals and there are no income requirements.

Starting March 18, we’re expanding our free meals program to district bus stops. Use our Nutrislice page to find the stop closest to you. Look for our school buses at the locations below to pick up breakfast (8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.) and lunch (12:00 p.m.. – 1:00 p.m).
