Teacher Bio

I’m Ms. Tina Mong, the music teacher at Rogers Ranch School.  This is my 9th year teaching at Rogers Ranch, and this is my 15th year total in the teaching field, teaching music education.

I am a student of Wilkes University, from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania  with  a B.M in Music Education.  I started substitute teaching right after college, then I moved here to Arizona in 2007, for my first teaching assignment.  I taught on the Navajo Reservation.  Then I moved to the Valley and worked at another school district for five years, before coming to Rogers Ranch.

We have a wonder new Music Curriculum this year.  It is call Quaver Music. The students  learn about the basics of music, also how to read, write and play music.  They will learn about composers, instruments (playing them too), and learning how to perform in front of an audience.

I also have an After School Choir Club: Mustang Choir for grades 5th – 8th.  Mustang Choir will be after school on Tuesday and Thursday 3:30 – 4:30.

I enjoy teaching students about music and all of the wonderful things they discover through music.  I look forward to continuing to work with the students of Rogers Ranch in the years to come.
